What we created
Lolab created an innovative process and recipe to fireproof fibre materials such as paper, wood pulp and even fabrics.
This provides a genuine alternative to create non toxic fireproof board materials and improving material properties such as stiffness and strength.
Cardboard panel treated with Lolab mixture at 900°C for 30 minutes
Lode working on the vacuum system
Formed and impregnated greyboard
Lolab lightweight 20mm fireproof cellulose panel
Prototype of adhesive applicator
POTENTIAL PRODUCTS
FIRE RESISTANT LAMINATED CONSTRUCTION PANEL
Product Features
Fire-resistant laminate for wood panels such as LVL and birch plywood
Fully glued on the master panels without seams, resulting in paint-ready, completely flat walls
Biodegradable and environmentally friendly, containing no harmful chemicals
Construction Potential
Aimed at LVL and birch plywood constructions
Fire safety is enhanced by preventing fire spread within wall and roof cavities.
Saving on labor costs and eliminating the need for additional drywall installation
Suitable for regular handling and (flatpack) construction logistics
Not brittle and crack-sensitive like plasterboard and gypsum fiberboard
25% lighter than plasterboard and 50% lighter than gypsum fiberboard, reducing transport costs
No (wet) labor-intensive post-processing, saving on labor costs and eliminating the need for additional drywall installation
Fire Resistance
Fire class B: No flash-over within 20 minutes in the Room Corner Test
No ignition in the Single Burning Item test
The number of 1,3 mm layers determine the fire resistance: 30 min / 60min / 120 minutes
Expands slightly when exposed to fire, enhancing fire resistance
